MY BOOKS

I write science fiction and fantasy with the occasional history/ romance/ humor/ paranormal thrown in. I have been told my books are too "quirky" and don't fit any genre well enough to be published by a mainstream publisher. Check one out and see what you think...

Arabella's Gift

Arabella has special "gifts" which cause some to consider her a witch. She's kidnapped by a dragon who is really a bishop...

Won the LA Romance Writer's Association Best Bet for Bestseller and 2nd place in the Indiana Romance Wrier's Association Golden Opportunity contest.

Snail's Pace

"...picture Chow-Yun Fat or Yul Brynner as a really big snail...

All creatures great and small, there are some things that we just can't escape. That's a point that [McDonough] manages to suggest in a gentle, amusing way in this comedy of manners that is unlike any you've read up to this time." -- Lisa Dumond of The SF Site

" I'm glad I stepped outside my genre comfort zone and gave this one a try. It was truly a fun read!" Book Addict on Amazon

Matriarchs: Eliza's Revenge

Won the genre novel category  in the Pacific Northwest Writer's Conference.

Winga is a woman from Gaia. She married an offworld man - a scandalous thing to do - but he has died and she is pregnant. Captain Rifkin Lile has been ordered to marry Winga and accompany her to Gaia to investigate a possible smuggling operation.  Their partnership is not a happy one.

Read Dreaming True, a parable from Gaia.

Lizzie in the Land Beyond

I finished Lizzie's story with the help of the Online Writer's Workshop. We got Lizzie away from the witches, past the trolls and into the Goblin Market.

Lizzie's journey is a little like Alice's and a little like Dorothy's, but mostly her journey is about recovering one's self.
